AFAIR, there is a really good css drop down tutorial on alistapart, which is what you want... can't really remember where it was though...

Following Russ's recommendations.

You'll need to do something like put the sub-menu into a DIV with the position style set to absolute, allowing you to use left and top to position it precisely on the page.

If you visit www.dynamicdrive.com you can download some examples of this type of menu to look at.

Thanks for the URL, but this is NOT a javascript menu. Apart from a minor js fix for IE being so annoying this is a pure cascading stylesheet menu.
